What we’re about

We’re a fun, hard-working community gym with an open and inclusive approach, because everyone’s journey is different.

We’ve now helped over 300 clients gain more movement and fitness to live happier, healthier lives.

Whether you’re young or old, coming back from injury, on the NDIS or with your own specific needs, a teenager, pregnant, a family with kids or a total beginner, come and join our amazing fit family.

Our gym and facilities

Our events and activities

Be a part of our community gym and you can join us for fun, social activites throughout the year. Here’s just some of the things we get up to:

Run club

Have you ever wanted to learn to run but don’t know where to start? Our beginner runners are learning how to go from 0 to 5km in 10 weeks. Enjoy a new way to exercise weekly with our friendly, welcoming group of budding runners. Take on your first City to Bay or Bloody Long Walk or participate in our annual fun.

Social events

We like to hang out outside the gym too, so we run a variety of social events throughout the year. Some of the fun activites we’ve done include bootcamp before beers, taco night, Easter fun bun class, bootcamp before bowling and our annual awards night.

Monthly challenges

We run monthly competitions everyone can participate in, like our monthly planking challenge for adults, teens, kids and most improved. Or, our target heart rate zones challenge where the more effort you put in the more effort points (MEPs) you earn. Will you join us for the next challenge?

DJ Rob

We have our own resident DJ, DJ Rob, who keeps our fitness classes fresh. DJ Rob provides the best live mixes to get sweaty to during our fitness classes. You can book into our special classes with DJ Rob, including cardio dance, step or cardio sculpt and get that extra motivation from some great tunes.

Bali fitness retreats

Travel with trainer Cass and an amazing small group of Power to Move members on a yearly Bali fitness retreat. Our last retreat saw a group of 5 enjoying tasty food, cocktails and relaxing by the pool combined with mountain hikes, bike rides and challenging workouts.
How we got to where we are today

Our story

Hi, I’m Cass, and I started Power To Move, our Ridleyton community gym, in 2018.

I’m a mum of 2 teenage kids, and when they were smaller they weren’t interested in football, soccer, netball or other school sports. As a teenager, I was an athlete, so it was important to me that my children be fit and engage in some sort of activity. My husband and I joined a local gym, and could have our children attend classes with us. But we weren’t the norm, and gym’s normally do not let 8 and 10 year olds do bootcamps or boxing classes.

I didn’t want Power To Move to be yet another gym where people felt excluded because they weren’t fit enough, were too young or old, or didn’t have the same abilities as others. I wanted to create a community where everyone could work out together with no judgement.
